Mammography Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Mammography Technologist or Radiologic Technologist (R)(M)
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Registered Technologist (R) or Registered Technologist (R)(M) – ARRT certification preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of breast anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
• Familiarity with state and federal regulations, quality control, and quality assurance standards for mammography

Key Responsibilities for Mammography Technologist

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms in accordance with established protocols and best practices
• Ensure high accuracy in breast positioning, exposure techniques, and image evaluation for optimal diagnostic results
• Maintain strict adherence to radiation protection and patient safety standards
• Integrate advanced technical skills and compassionate patient care to support physicians in breast imaging
• Exercise independent judgment and consult with interpreting physicians or follow institutional policies as needed
