Join a dynamic Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team in Utica, NY. We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (Critical Care RN/Travel Nurse) for a 13-week travel assignment. Work in a state-of-the-art facility supporting Neuro/Med, CTICU, and Surg/Trauma cases. - Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift (Travel Nurse)
- Location: Utica, NY 13502 (Central New York travel nursing opportunity)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 4, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30pm – 7:00am)
- Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,100–$2,210/week
- Employment Type: Travel, On-site (ICU nurse job / travel nursing)
- Unit: ICU — Neuro/Med, CTICU, Surg/Trauma (42-bed ICU)
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience (SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, MS ICU, or Neuro ICU) — Critical Care RN experience required
- Active NY RN license (all active RN licenses must be verified)
- Current AHA ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Experience with CRRT and Prismaflex required; Prismaflex or NxStage experience preferred
- Cardiac/heart experience highly preferred (CTICU/heart monitoring)
- EPIC EMR experience required (documentation and charting proficiency)
- Charge nurse experience preferred; skills checklist matching specialty required
- Up-to-date travel nursing resume with documented travel experience
- Ability to float to all ICU units as needed (except Behavioral and ER unless holding)
Key Responsibilities (ICU Nurse / Critical Care RN)
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate critical care to critically ill patients in a 42-bed ICU (Neuro/Med, CTICU, Surg/Trauma)
- Monitor and manage complex diagnoses including stroke, sepsis, respiratory failure, CHF, post-STEMI, CV surgery, trauma, and major post-op cases
- Use advanced ICU equipment: IABP, CRRT (PRISMA or NxStage), ventriculostomy, ICP monitoring, TTM (Artic Sun), ventilators
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, PT/OT, case management) to develop individualized care plans
- Float across various ICU specialties to meet patient care demands and support critical care coverage
- Maintain accurate EPIC documentation, ensure regulatory compliance, and follow hospital policies and procedures
- Demonstrate flexibility, clinical judgment, and leadership in a fast-paced intensive care environment
