• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shifts: 3x12-hour rotating shifts per week (Day: 7:00am–7:30pm / Night: 7:00pm–7:30am; rotation may be required)
• Hours per Week: 36
• On-Site Position: Hospital-based Cardiac Stepdown (in-person)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2130-$2250

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of recent, permanent Cardiac Stepdown, Stepdown, or cardiac telemetry nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or Compact State license (must be in hand at submission)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or American Red Cross)
• NIHSS certification required
• One supervisory reference in specialty (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director)
• Must pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Willingness to float to similar units as needed (J1-2, J33, and ED for similar patient populations)
• Availability to work at least every other holiday during the assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac and post-surgical patients in the Cardiac Stepdown unit
• Continuously monitor telemetry and interpret ECGs; respond promptly to arrhythmias and changes in condition
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and cardiac-specific treatments per orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (cardiology, surgery, respiratory therapy, case management) to develop individualized care plans
• Perform accurate and timely documentation using the hospital’s electronic health record
• Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, procedures, medications, and post-discharge instructions
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Float to designated units as needed to support patient care and unit operations
