Travel CVOR RN Job Details

• Location: Winfield, IL 60190 — DuPage County, Chicago area
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing assignment (travel nurse job)
• Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) / Cardiovascular OR
• Shift: 4 x 10-hour day shifts (07:00 - 17:30)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Contract Duration: 12 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 22, 2026)
• On-Call: CV call required per month (including some weekends)
• Weekend Requirement: As needed for call coverage
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Daily Census: 60–70 (high-volume cardiovascular caseload)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent CVOR RN experience (perioperative cardiovascular nursing)
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license (must be in-hand prior to start)
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• CNOR certification preferred (cardiovascular OR experience strongly desired)
• COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccines required (medical exemptions considered for COVID-19 only)
• Must provide active license, completed skills checklist, and two recent references (one from a supervisor/manager/charge RN within the last year)

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver expert perioperative nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Assist with complex cardiovascular surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergent cases
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the interdisciplinary surgical team
• Maintain accurate perioperative documentation and uphold regulatory and hospital standards
• Support, educate, and mentor fellow staff and perioperative team members
• Adhere to sterile technique, surgical protocols, and all hospital policies and compliance requirements
