• Shift: Night (12-hour shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680-$1770

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (must meet state requirements for practice in Arizona)
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg bedside clinical experience (2 years highly desired)

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized medical-surgical care plans
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees as assigned
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and interdisciplinary team conferences to coordinate care
• Initiate discharge planning and provide patient teaching from admission to improve outcomes
• Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital policies, infection control, and safety protocols
• Communicate changes in patient status to the care team and seek consultation when necessary
• Provide direction and training to ancillary staff and delegate tasks appropriately
• Contribute to a positive, efficient work environment and participate in team-building activities
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after orientation
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education to maintain clinical competence
