Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• BLS Certification required prior to first shift
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg bedside clinical experience (2 years highly desired)
• Previous Med/Surg travel nurse or hospital Med/Surg RN experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care following individualized nursing care plans for Med/Surg patients
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission to develop individualized care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees as assigned
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel to ensure safe, coordinated care
• Identify patient and family teaching needs and establish education goals
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning for continuity of care
• Communicate changes in patient status to the interdisciplinary care team to promote safety and continuity
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after orientation
• Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies and procedures
• Contribute positively to team building and a supportive work environment; engage in professional growth and continuing education
