Travel Nurse Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,970 – $2,080
• Location: Utica, NY 13502 – Central New York / Mohawk Valley; ideal for New York travel nursing jobs
• Setting: Med/Surg Stroke Stepdown Unit (64 beds)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (June 1, 2026 – August 29, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30pm – 7:00am)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse
• Openings: 2 Registered Nurse (RN) positions

Required Qualifications – Registered Nurse (RN) / Travel RN

• Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience, including stroke stepdown care
• Previous travel nursing experience required (travel RN preferred)
• Active RN license in New York (all RN licenses verified via NURSYS)
• Current AHA BLS certification
• NIHSS certification required (can be obtained prior to start)
• Completed skills checklist matching specialty
• Current resume documenting relevant Med/Surg and stroke experience
• Driver’s license with address matching demographics
• Experience with EPIC EMR strongly preferred

Key Responsibilities – Medical/Surgical RN

• Provide high-quality nursing care for adult patients with stroke, altered mental status, renal/dialysis needs, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, pulmonary conditions, and general med/surg diagnoses
• Manage specialty equipment including IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes
• Float to other units as required to support hospital staffing (med/surg flexibility)
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation using EPIC EMR
• Follow infection control protocols and isolation procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members—physicians, therapists, and case managers—to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Adhere to unit dress code (navy blue scrubs)
