Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year recent IMCU/PCU or stepdown nursing experience; 2+ years preferred
• Active RN license in New York (all RN licenses verified via NURSYS)
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS required
• Experience with EPIC EMR (electronic charting) — EPIC experience preferred
• Skills checklist matching cardiac stepdown, neuro, and respiratory specialties
• Up-to-date resume documenting relevant IMCU/PCU or cardiac stepdown experience
• Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics
• Ability to float to related units as needed; team-oriented and flexible

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients (18+) in the IMCU / cardiac stepdown setting
• Manage patients with common diagnoses: neuro, cardiac (post-MI, CV stepdown), trauma, respiratory (COPD, DKA, sepsis, post-op)
• Operate and manage specialty equipment: temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines (A-lines), BiPAP, Neptune Vapo
• Care for patients on chronic ventilators with RT collaboration and support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, case management) to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC EMR and adhere to unit protocols
• Participate in unit floating and support cross-coverage as required
