Job Details / Travel Nurse Compensation
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980 – $2,080
- Contract Length: 16 weeks (Travel Nurse Contract)
- Location: Geneva, NY (Finger Lakes) — travel nursing position / New York nursing jobs
- Shift: Full-time weekdays (4 x 9-hour shifts; typical start times 6:30/7:30 AM – 3:30/4:30 PM)
- On-Call: Weekend/holiday on-call and flex shift rotation (approx. 1 on-call day/week; ~3 full weekends on-call during contract)
- Setting: Float between Geneva General Hospital and Finger Lakes Surgery Center (hospital OR and ambulatory surgery)
Required Qualifications – OR RN / Travel Nurse
- Active New York State (NYS) Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) / perioperative nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA or RQI acceptable)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification
- Ability to respond to PACU call rotation within 60 minutes
- Willingness to float between hospital and surgery center as needed
Operating Room RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care as a circulating or scrub OR nurse across adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations
- Assess patient needs, develop individualized perioperative care plans, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Provide post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) support and respond to PACU call rotations
- Educate patients and families on post-op care, discharge instructions, and recovery expectations
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and adherence to surgical protocols and sterile technique
- Advocate for patients, provide emotional support, and foster teamwork in a fast-paced OR environment
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development in perioperative nursing
