Position Details

- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift Details:
- Day/Night rotation
- Shift start times: 7 AM, 11 AM, 7 PM
- Shift length: 12 hours
- Rotation between:
- 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
- 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM
- 3:00 PM - 3:30 AM
Required Skills and Experience
- Ultrasound-guided IV placement experience
- Vein finder experience required
- Experience on a pediatric vascular access team
- Pediatric Vascular Access Service (VAS) experience required (e.g., Hematology/Oncology, ICU)
- IV placement skills required
- Experience with pediatric to adult population
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or American Red Cross only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required if assignment extends past 13 weeks for certain units (CVICU, CICU, PICU, etc.)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for specific pediatric intensive care and emergency units
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Preferred for NICU, must have PALS or NRP
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., Chemotherapy certification for Oncology)

Additional Requirements and Compliance
- Background Check: 10-year criminal background check required within 6 months prior to start, including aliases and multiple jurisdiction checks
- State License Verification: Must be verified through MA.gov within 30 days of start
- NURSYS Verification: Required within 30 days of start
- Massachusetts Statewide iCORI Clearance: Must be run within 6 months of start date
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, cleared to work with no restrictions
- Immunizations and titers required: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, TB test (negative within required timeframe)
- Seasonal Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations or approved exemptions required for 2025-2026 season
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months (not required for APN)
- RespSafety Clearance: Required for all travelers; facility-specific fit testing completed onsite
- References: Two professional references from two of the last three employers
- Employment Application: Must include 10-year work history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Competency Exams: Pediatric pharmacology and general competency exams required (not required for APN)

- Locals within 50 miles of the facility are accepted with a rate differential
- Candidates must complete onboarding packets and required forms prior to start
- Various facility-specific documents and attestations are required, including background check attestations, health forms, and exemption forms if applicable
