Travel RN - Telemetry Unit

Location: Wichita, Kansas

Unit Information

• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Number of Beds: 14
• Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 4 patients
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift example: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
  • Night Shift staffing available
  • Unit includes RNs, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), unit secretaries
• Equipment: Chest tubes, IV pumps, various drains
• Documentation System: Meditech EMR
• Scheduling: Every other weekend required
• Floating: Must be available to float to other units
• Patient Experience: Emphasis on positive attitude, patient-centered care, critical thinking, teamwork, and engagement

Required Certifications and Skills

• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Skills:

  • Knowledge of medication drips, central lines, heart catheterization recovery
  • Advanced skills are not considered for this role
• Procedures: No invasive procedures performed on this unit
