Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Stockbridge, Georgia
Facility Type: Level 3 Trauma Center (in process), Primary Stroke, CHF, STEMI, Chest Pain Center


Job Details

  • Patient Population: Neonates to Geriatrics
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years (1st time travelers accepted)
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 18 weeks
  • Shift Details:
    • Ratio: 1:4
    • Unit Census: 59 rooms, ~250 visits/day
    • Weekends: Every other weekend
    • Floating: Yes
    • Call: None
    • Holidays: Required to work major holidays during assignment (see below)
  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
  • Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - online course required within a few months of hire

Holiday Work Expectations

If 1 major holiday falls during assignment: work it
If 2 major holidays fall: work both
If 3 major holidays fall: work two of the three

Major Holidays Include:

  • New Year’s Eve & Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving & Black Friday
  • Christmas Eve & Day

Compliance & Orientation

  • Full compliance required to start on time
  • Non-compliance results in 2-week push back due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours depends on contract length (e.g., 18 hours for 18-week assignment)

Screening & Hiring Process

  • Clinical screen required to determine fit
  • Locals accepted at same rate

Required Documents & Verifications

  • Photo ID: Driver’s License or State ID
  • Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification
  • Education Verification: Degree verification required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process
  • State License: Georgia RN license verification within 30 days prior to start
  • NURSYS Verification: Annual verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start; cannot start with results pending
  • Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start
  • TB Testing: Negative PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; TB questionnaire required annually
  • Immunizations:
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or signed declination
    • Flu Vaccine or Declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)

Competency Exams (Aya Required)

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
  • Color Blind Testing (with alternative assessment if needed)
  • Competency Exam (Nursing and Allied)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, ICU, PCU) - max 3 attempts allowed

Additional Notes

  • Candidate must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
  • References: 2 clinical references required by Aya (not client)
  • Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months
  • Work History Verification: Required for most recent employer; can be pending at start with proof it is in process
