Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Job - Frederick, Maryland

Location

• Frederick, Maryland (approximately 1 hour from Baltimore and Washington DC)
• Suburban lifestyle with access to city amenities, parks, historic district, and mountainous views

Position Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Cath Lab Tech)
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Schedule:

  • 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • 4 days per week
  • After-hours call required, including weekends (approximately every 3rd weekend)
  • Block scheduling not accommodated
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements

• Maryland State License required at time of application (no exceptions)
• ARRT (R) certification required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab Tech experience preferred; first-time travelers will be considered

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS: AHA Provider only (Instructor not accepted)
• BLS: AHA Provider only (Instructor not accepted)
• Pass/Fail Testing:

  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for Cath Lab candidates (2 attempts allowed)
  • Pharmacology/Medication exam required
  • Must score 80% or higher on all exams
• Other certifications as applicable (PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) depending on unit or specialty
• State License verification and NURSYS verification (for RNs) required

Documentation & Compliance

• Background checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and for every contract renewal
• Education verification: High school diploma, GED, or college degree required (certificates not accepted)
• Physical exam: Initial and updated annually attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant/rapid acceptable)
• Immunizations and Titers:

  • Tdap (no declination allowed)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD or equivalent)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or positive titer with boosters if low titer
  • Hepatitis B series or positive titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct-April)
• Fit mask testing required prior to start (N95 or PAPR acceptable)

Facility Specific Requirements

• Scrub color provided
• Charting system: Meditech
• Photo for badge required (no nose rings allowed)
• Completion of facility-specific online learning modules and pass/fail testing prior to start (4-5 hours, due 1-2 weeks before start)
• Proof of 2 clinical references within the last 12 months required
• Employment application and skills checklist must be completed and updated annually

This position offers a structured schedule with a mix of clinical and on-call responsibilities in a well-equipped suburban hospital setting. Candidates must meet strict licensing, certification, and compliance requirements to be eligible.
