Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• Monday to Friday
• 07:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Licensing & Certification Requirements

• State License: Not required
• National Certification: Required - ARRT (R)(M)
• BLS (Basic Life Support): Required, must be AHA certified
• Tech Certification Verification: National certification verification required within 30 days of start (ARRT credentials specific to modality such as MRI, CT, Mammography)
• Continuing Education Units (CEUs): Mammography Techs must have 15 mammography-specific CEUs within the last 3 years

Background & Compliance Checks

• 7-year criminal background check within a year of start, updated annually
• Education verification (diploma or transcript acceptable)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM checks within 30 days of start and monthly thereafter
• HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and monthly thereafter
• Pennsylvania-specific: Child Abuse Search and Department of Human Services Fingerprint Results required within 12 months of start and updated annually
• Fingerprinting: PA FBI fingerprinting required for Pennsylvania placements, results must be on file before start

Facility-Specific Requirements for Mammography Techs

• Evidence of 200 mammograms performed within the last 24 months
• Evidence of initial training: 40 hours of mammography-specific training and 25 supervised exams
• Evidence of initial modality training: 8 hours digital and 8 hours 3D/tomo training (varies by certification date)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam (physician statement within last 12 months)
• Flu vaccination or approved religious/medical exemption during flu season
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination or medical exemption
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 1 year of start; chest x-ray if past positive
• TB questionnaire required
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references within 2 years (required to meet Vaya standard, not required by facility)
• Skills checklist updated annually (required for Vaya)
• Work history verification of last position worked only
• Radiation badge provided by facility for radiology techs
• Various facility-specific agreements and acknowledgments must be reviewed and signed
