Registered Nurse (RN) – MS/Tele – 2 East Clinical Decision Unit

Location: Vero Beach, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)


Job Requirements

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 18 months tele/acute care experience required
    • 2 years preferred
    • PCU experience preferred
  • Certifications Required at Time of Submission:
    • AHA BLS
    • ACLS
    • NIHSS (must be obtained prior to start)
  • First-timers Accepted: Yes
  • License: Pending licenses not accepted
  • Floating: Will float within scope to all 3 hospitals within 20 miles
  • Schedule: No block schedule accommodation
  • Guaranteed Hours:
    • 36 hours for 3x12-hour shifts
    • 40 hours for 8/10-hour shifts
  • Facility is Smoke-Free: All travelers must be nicotine-free (negative 10 panel drug screen including nicotine required)

Important Notes

  • Include all requested time off (RTO) upfront with submission; additions later likely will not be approved
  • Time-sensitive online training modules must be prioritized and completed before start
  • Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone
  • Candidates returning to Cleveland Clinic with less than 6 months break may not need to re-orient or re-complete modules

Required Documentation & Compliance

Background Checks

  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM checks within 30 days of start and updated with renewals
  • HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated with renewals
  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)

Certifications

  • ACLS: AHA provider card or RQI accepted (Instructor card not accepted)
  • BLS: AHA provider card or RQI accepted (Instructor card not accepted)
  • NIH Stroke Certification: Required annually for MS/Tele and related units
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Administered during orientation; 2 attempts allowed per test
  • Other certifications as applicable based on specialty/unit

Health Requirements

  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Required vaccinations or titers:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • Negative 10 panel drug screen including nicotine within 1 year of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
  • COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required

Other Requirements

  • 2 professional references within 2 years of start (for travel and acute care positions)
  • Employment application required
  • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
  • Radiation badge issued if applicable
