Unit Details

• Unit Name: Pingree 5
• Description: New 24-bed private room inpatient medical telemetry unit
• Patient Population: Adult medical patients
• Bed Count: 24
• Census: 24
• Clinician to Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 4-5 patients
• EMR System: EPIC
• Floating: Required
• Shift Requirements: Rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights; rotation needed to cover open night shifts; day rotate positions rotate a couple of shifts per month

Experience & Skills Required

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
• Ability to read cardiac telemetry strips (tele strips)

Certifications & Licenses Required

• Active Massachusetts RN License (no conditional licenses accepted)
• BLS (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military; AHA preferred) – Required for onboarding
• ACLS – Optional but required for RNs on Observation Unit
• Other preferred/optional certifications: Tdap (preferred)

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Fit Test (N95) within 365 days of start date, updated annually; no religious exemptions
• MGB Medication Exam – 80% passing within 365 days
• MGB Dysrhythmia Exam – 80% passing
• MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions
• TB test documentation within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break
• Health Statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days, updated if >6 month break
• Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation (if fit test required)
• Positive PPD requires negative chest x-ray documentation (optional)

Background & Professional Requirements

• Criminal Background Check within 45 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
• Education verification of highest level achieved
• Social Security Number trace for past 7 years
• National Sex Offender Check within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days of start, updated annually

Submission Requirements

• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city & state
• Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above in skillset)
• Skills checklist

• License/certificate verification (primary source verification required within 30 days of start)

Summary

This is a 13-week long-term assignment for an experienced RN with telemetry skills in a 24-bed adult medical telemetry unit.
