Description

Job Opportunity: RN Medical / Surgical / Telemetry

Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Every Other Week (EOW) / Every Other Holiday (EOH)

Required Credentials & Certifications

Licenses & Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • Required for onboarding
    • American Heart Association certification required for all direct patient care personnel
    • Must provide scanned copy of both front and back of card with expiration date
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • Required for onboarding
    • Required for RNs in CCU, ED, PACU, MICU, SICU
    • Must provide scanned copy of both front and back of card with expiration date
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
    • Required for onboarding
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • Optional
  • License/Certificate Verification
    • Required for onboarding
    • Must be dated within 30 days of start
    • Attach scanned online verification with machine-generated date (state verification preferred, e.g., NURSYS for RNs and LPNs)
  • Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing
    • Required for onboarding
    • Specialty exam must be completed within the last year

Personal Health & Immunizations

  • Fit Test
    • Required for onboarding
  • Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen
    • Required for onboarding
    • Completed within 30 days of start (preferably within 14 days)
    • Must include: Cocaine, Amphetamines, Opiates, 6-Monoacetylmorphine, Propoxyphene, PCP, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Methaqualone, Methadone
    • No THC allowed
  • COVID-19 Vaccine
    • Proof of September 2025 booster, declination, or exemption (with agency letterhead)
    • Declination not accepted for CA or IL
    • Valid through October 2026
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
    • Proof of 2 vaccinations with dates or IgG titer lab report
  • Hepatitis B
    • Must have started vaccination series prior to start (1st shot before start, 2nd shot 30 days later, 3rd shot 6 months later)
    • Hep B titers NOT accepted
  • Influenza Vaccine
    • Proof of vaccine, declination, or exemption (with agency letterhead)
    • Declination not accepted for CA or IL
    • Valid for flu season 10/1/2024 - 4/30/2025
  • 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot)
    • Required for onboarding
    • Positive TB requires chest x-ray within last year for MI, IN, CT, MA; within 5 years for other states
  • Varicella
    • Proof of 1 vaccination with date or IgG titer lab report
  • Physical/Health Statement
    • Documentation from exam within last year confirming fitness to work
  • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
    • Current, non-expired vaccine required
    • Declinations accepted if no pediatric interaction; agency form acceptable

  • EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) Check
    • Must be dated within 30 days of start
  • GSA/OIG (Office of Inspector General) Check

  • Joint Commission CORE Exam
    • Completed within last year
  • NSO (National Sex Offender) Check
    • Must be dated within 30 days of start
    • Includes all names and locations
  • System Access Form
    • Must be completed and uploaded one week before start

    • Required for clinical contractors; agency will provide
  • Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training
    • Required for Iowa assignments
  • Iowa Sing Report
    • Iowa-specific criminal history, sex offender, dependent adult & child abuse registry check required within 30 days prior to start
  • OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) Sanctions Check
    • Must be completed within 30 days of start
