Job Description

  • Position: Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech)
  • Schedule:
    • Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM plus call shifts
    • Late shift: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM (or until last scheduled case is finished)
    • Call shifts:
      • Cover 1 call night per week (6:00 PM – 7:00 AM next day)
      • Cover a call weekend approximately every 6 weeks (Friday 6:00 PM to Monday 7:00 AM)
  • Call Requirements:
    • Must be within 30 minutes of the facility when on call for acute STEMI cases
    • Call team consists of 2 RNs and 1 RT
  • Typical Work Week:
    • 1 call shift (9:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
    • 1 late shift (10:30 AM – 7:00 PM or until cases complete)
    • 3 regular shifts (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
  • On-call staff generally not assigned complex or lengthy cases during call shifts

Licensure & Certification Requirements

  • Must have a valid Indiana State License (no temporary licenses accepted; compact license or permanent IN license required)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA required, RQI acceptable, must be current or updated within 60 days of start
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA required, RQI acceptable, must be current or updated within 60 days of start
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – as applicable by specialty
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – as applicable by specialty
  • State License verification and primary source verification required prior to start

  • Background Checks (within 30 days and updated annually):
    • Social Security Trace
    • County Resided & Employed
    • Nationwide Check
    • Sex Offender Registry

  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start
  • Transcript or Diploma of highest education prior to start
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual)
  • Pass/Fail Testing on first day of orientation (EKG, medication exams, etc.)
  • Competency Exams (annual updates required):
    • Medication/Pharmacology
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency (90% passing score, remediation process available)
    • Core Parts I, II, III
    • OSHA Mandatory
  • Color Blind Testing (within 1 year, online acceptable)
  • COVID-19 Travel Acknowledgement prior to start
  • Facility-specific documents including credential checklists, confidentiality agreements, medication administration study guides, and job description acknowledgment

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 1 year, indicating clearance to work with no restrictions and free of communicable diseases
  • Fit Mask (N95 respirator) required prior to start; facial hair must comply with OSHA standards
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year (Quantiferon Gold or Tspot acceptable)
  • Immunity Titers within past year for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
    • Boosters and declinations required if titers are low or equivocal
  • Drug Testing: 10-panel required within 3 weeks of start (instant tests not accepted)
  • Seasonal Vaccinations:
    • Flu vaccine/documentation required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31) or exemption documentation
    • COVID-19 vaccination required (2 doses Moderna/Pfizer or 1 dose J&J) or approved medical/religious exemption

References & Employment History

  • Two references from most recent contract (supervisors or charge nurses acceptable)
  • Employment application required
  • Annual skills checklist
  • Verification of previous relevant employment
