Travel RN Opportunity - ICU (Level 2)

Location: Marquette, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Department: ICU (Cost Center 650)
• Unit: 4th floor ICU with Level 2 ICU program including Open Heart, Cath Lab, Neuro Surgery, Level II Trauma center, and CRRT programs
• Number of Openings: 3 (1 day shift, 2 night shifts)
• Shift: 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm for days, 7pm-7am for nights)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: No scheduled call; may be put on call if census drops
• Float Requirements: Must be willing to float on a rotation with other travel nurses

Patient Care & Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 24
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 in ICU, 1:3 in IMCU
• Patient Population: Adult ICU patients
• Common Diagnoses/Treatments:

  • Post-open heart surgery
  • Heart failure
  • Respiratory failure
  • Trauma
  • Surgical ICU care
  • Post-stroke with lytics
  • Post-craniotomy
  • Septic shock

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU experience
• Skills: Experience with vented ICU patients required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) minimum
• Preferred Experience: CVICU, Neuro ICU, organ donation, pediatric DKA

• Baxter IV pumps
• Omnicell medication system
• PrismaFlex CRRT machine
• Impella device
• Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)
• External ventricular drains (EVDs)
• Bolt monitoring
• Mechanical ventilators, BiPAP, high flow oxygen
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner
