Location: Marquette, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility & Unit Overview

• 225-bed specialty care hospital
• Services include Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine & Weight Management, Women's Health, Pediatrics
• Trauma Level 2 center
• Unit: ICU (24 beds) on the 4th floor
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 in ICU, 1:3 in IMCU
• EHR system: Cerner

Position Details

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Level 2 ICU with Open Heart program, Cath lab, Neuro Surgery, CRRT programs
• Number of Openings: 3 (1 day shift, 2 night shifts)
• Shift Hours: 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm for days, 7pm-7am for nights)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: No scheduled call; may be put on call if census drops
• Float Requirements: Must be willing to float on a rotation with other travel nurses

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 2 years ICU experience
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Experience with vented ICU patients is a must

Preferred Skills & Experience

• CVICU, Neuro ICU experience
• Organ donation experience
• Pediatric DKA experience

• Post-open heart surgery

• Surgical ICU care
• Post-stroke with lytics
• Post-craniotomy care
• Septic shock

Equipment & Technology

• Baxter IV pumps
• Omnicell medication system
• PrismaFlex CRRT machine
• Impella device
• Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)
• External ventricular drains (EVDs)
• Bolt monitoring
• Mechanical ventilators, BiPAP, high flow oxygen

Work Environment & Culture

Education

• Required: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
