Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Dubois, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Basic Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Must hold a Pennsylvania nursing license or a compact license
• Required Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• First-time travelers are welcome
• No local candidates within a 50-mile radius accepted

Required Documentation & Compliance

Identification

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)

Background Checks

• 7-year criminal background check including:

  • Social Security trace
  • County searches for all locations lived/worked/schooled in last 7 years
  • Nationwide sex offender check
  • Pennsylvania statewide background check (PATCH)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check
• HHS/OIG check
• Education verification (transcripts, diplomas, or 3rd party verification)
• PA Department of Human Services fingerprinting (FBI fingerprinting within 12 months of start)
• NURSYS verification for RN license

Certifications

• ACLS (AHA, ARC, Military accepted)
• BLS (AHA, ARC, Military accepted)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as required by unit
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification for Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, and Acute Care units (annual renewal required)
• NIH Stroke Certification (annual renewal required)

Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
• General Competency Exam as applicable

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within past 10 years (declination accepted with form)
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or T-Spot) within 6 months or chest X-ray within 5 years
• Immunizations or proof of immunity (2 vaccines or positive titer) or declination forms for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
• Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declined during flu season Nov-April)
• COVID-19 vaccination or declination
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Alcohol breathalyzer test within 30 days of start (not required for this location)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Passport-style photo for badge
• Completion of facility orientation packet and acknowledgements prior to start
• Completion of medical surveillance checklist prior to start
• Completion of bloodborne pathogen quiz prior to start
• Completion of vaccine declination forms if applicable

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references within the last 3 years
• Annual skills checklist
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse clearance (Childline search) within 1 year of start

Notes

• No onsite classes available for MAB or CPI; online certification accepted
• All certifications requiring annual renewal must be kept current
• Fingerprinting must be completed in Pennsylvania; results must be on file before start
• Declinations for vaccines require completion of facility-specific forms
• Masking required if flu vaccine is declined during flu season through March 31

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of experience, current PA licensure, and required certifications, seeking a 13-week travel contract in Pennsylvania.
