Registered Nurse (Cath Lab) - Travel/Contract
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab)
- Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts (40 hours weekly)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years required
- Accepts: First-timers with Cath Lab, Interventional Vascular Lab, or Interventional Radiology experience
- Patient Ratios: 1:1
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- DC Nursing License
Preferred:
- BSN
Skills & Responsibilities
- Diagnostic and interventional Cardiac Cath Lab procedures
- Assist with Central Line insertion and management
- Starting IVs
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Isolation precautions
- Monitoring procedural sedation
- Ventilator monitoring
- Pulmonary Artery (PA) line management

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I9 and E-Verify attestation required upon hire
- Valid driver's license if driving is essential to the job
- Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification for highest degree required
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
- Immunizations and health documentation including:
- Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination
- Varicella vaccination or titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended; declination requires mask use
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (pass with 80% or higher) within 3 years
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam with specific scoring requirements, updated annually
- Color blindness testing (online or in-person)
- Other unit-specific competencies as applicable
Additional Requirements
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
- Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually
- Facility-specific orientation modules must be completed before start date
