Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel/Contract
Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: ICU (Surgical ICU, Neuro ICU, Cardiac ICU, ICU Stepdown)
- Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: Yes
- Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday
- Floating: As needed
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years ICU experience
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Locals Accepted: No, must live at least 50 miles away
Required Certifications
- ACLS (AHA only)
- BLS (AHA only)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification (required for all RNs)
Preferred Certifications
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CRRT
Documentation & Compliance Requirements
- Background check covering last 7 years, all states lived/worked in, required within 90 days of start and annually (except APN)
- Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts
- Physical exam
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Qgold required within 1 year; T-Spots not accepted)
- TB questionnaire (prior to start and annually)
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant accepted if needed for quick start)
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious declination prior to start (documentation required by 12/15 for working candidates)
- COVID vaccine medical exemption process available if applicable
Additional Information
- Charting system: Cerner Powerchart
- Scrub color: Caribbean Blue
- Facility requires completion of online modules (~8-10 hours) prior to start; paid for completion
- Facility-specific documents include confidentiality agreements and photo for badge
- On-site EKG exam required for Monitor Techs (not applicable for RN)
