Job Opportunity: RN Critical Care (Neuro ICU) - Cleveland, Ohio

Position Details

• Specialty: RN Critical Care (Neuro ICU)
• Location: Cleveland, Ohio
• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 12 weeks
• Unit: 19-bed Neurosurgical ICU
• Patient Population: Acute stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), seizures, post-surgical patients requiring invasive intracranial pressure monitoring, frequent neurological assessments, hemodynamic monitoring, routine CT, MRI, and Angiography.
• Patient Assignment Ratio: 2-3:1
• Additional Duties: May need to float to other ICUs or step-down units.
• Schedule: Straight weekend block (every Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
• Experience Required: Neuro ICU experience mandatory.

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (American Heart Association only)
• ACLS (American Heart Association only)
• Valid permanent RN license (no temporary licenses accepted)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• License/Certificate Verification (primary source verification required)
• Ohio Fingerprints (BCI&I check) and criminal background checks as per Ohio residency duration
• Education Verification (highest level verified through third-party)
• Employment Verification (within last 5 years, third-party)
• UHS Competency Exam (minimum 80% score)
• UHS Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission-NPSG, OSHA topics; 80% passing score)
• UHS I-9 Attestation (proof of eligibility to work)
• UHS Criminal Background Check (within 6 months)
• UHS OIG Search (within 6 months)
• UHS SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC Screening (within 6 months)
• UHS Drug Screen (10-panel, within 60 days of start; no instant screens)
• UHS Module Completion Certificate (required safety and compliance training)
• UHS Badge Photo (professional headshot)

Required Health & Immunization Credentials

• COVID-19 Vaccine (proof or approved exemption preferred, not required)
• MMR (positive titers within last 15 years; booster protocol if low titer)
• Varicella (positive titers within last 15 years; booster protocol if low titer)
• Tdap (vaccination within last 10 years; no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B (proof of full series, partial series with declination, or positive titers)
• Influenza Vaccine (required during flu season Oct-Mar; declination requires mask and specific forms)
• Fit Test (completed within 1 year; specific mask models required)
• 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) test (negative within last 6 months; if positive, clear chest x-ray and TB questionnaire required)
• Physical/Health Statement (pre-employment exam within 1 year stating ability to work without restrictions)

Additional Requirements

• UHS Skills Checklist (clinical skill-specific checklist, completed within 1 year prior to start)
• Driver’s License or State ID (non-expired)
• Submission Packet including resume, references, job application, and employment history form (required for submission)
• Annual Negative PPD (if 2-step PPD not done within past year)
