Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel/Contract

Location: Fairlawn, Ohio

Shift: Night Shift, 3x 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Job Description

• Med Surg Registered Nurse position
• Local assignment with same rate as travel

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA only; required for all RNs except some OR/Pre-Op roles
• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA only; required for all RNs and other clinical staff
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for RN PreOp/PACU and Surgery ASC locations; preferred but not required for OR
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required as applicable
• State Nursing License: Primary source verification required

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 1 year of start; must include 7-year search with multiple databases
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required monthly
• Fingerprinting (BCI & FBI) NOT required
• Valid government-issued photo ID required and must be carried on assignment
• I9 or attestation required
• Residency declaration form required if working on a compact license

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year, confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• Tdap immunization within 10 years
• Negative TB test (Qgold or Tspot within 6 months preferred) or chest X-ray clearance if prior positive TB test
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines; booster required if titers negative/equivocal
• Hepatitis B: Series, positive titer, or declination accepted
• Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; booster required if titers negative/equivocal
• Negative 10-panel drug screen (including nicotine) within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required annually (strict deadline for documentation)

Documentation and Compliance

• Completion of facility-specific forms and acknowledgments prior to start (e.g., HIPAA, Code of Conduct, Confidentiality, Emergency Contact, Employee Badge Acknowledgement)
• Completion of facility MOE Test and Packet prior to start
• Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually
• 2 professional references required, including at least 1 from most recent employer
• Employment application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar specialty

Additional Notes

• Radiation badges issued by facility for applicable units (FYI)
• Facility requires flu religious exemption form if applicable
• Drug screen does not require annual updates for this facility
