Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Position Details

• Unit: Labor & Delivery
• Shift: 36 or 48 hours night shifts
• Ratio: 1:2 nurse to patient ratio
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Float Requirement: Must float to Post Partum
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required
• Holiday: Only 1 holiday request time off (RTO) approved
• Scrubs: Provided by facility
• Flu Vaccine: Mandatory for all employees

Required Certifications

• C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) through NCC (must have upon submittal)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Additional certifications may be required based on unit description

Note: If C-EFM is not currently held, AWHONN certification can be used as a placeholder but the candidate must register for C-EFM course for clearance.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• At least 1 prior travel assignment completed
• Skills required: Circulate and Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
• Preferred skills: Scrub or Triage

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • Criminal background check within 90 days including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • SSN trace, federal and state-wide searches (MD, DC, VA)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start and monthly thereafter
• Licenses:

  • Valid state nursing license required prior to start
• Health Documents:

  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within last year, with annual updates
  • Immunizations: Tdap (within 10 years preferred), Hepatitis B titer or series or signed declination, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) documentation or positive titers, Varicella documentation or positive titer
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required for flu season (Sept 23 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended; declination requires mask use during patient encounters
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
  • N95 Fit Test within 9 months and updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
• Competency Exams:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam within 3 years, minimum 80% score
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam for applicable units with specific scoring requirements and remediation process
  • Color blind testing (online or in-person)
• References:

  • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years, including one from the most recent assignment
• Work History:

  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, licenses, and contact information
  • Verification of minimum 2 years of experience in the past 7 years
• Other:

  • I9 and E-Verify attestations required upon hire
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation modules (SITELS) prior to start date
  • Photo for badge with specific requirements (clear, centered, no shadows, solid background)

Additional Notes

• Only one holiday off request will be approved during the contract
• Must be willing to float to Post Partum unit
• Weekend shifts every other weekend required
• Facility requires flu vaccination for all employees without exception
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
