Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Technologist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 4 days per week, 9-hour shifts (Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
- On Call/Weekend Requirements:
- 10 call shifts per month
- 1 Friday call per month
- 6 Monday-Thursday calls per month
- 3 24-hour weekend call shifts per month
- No other weekend requirements
- Float Requirement: None
- Unit Case Load: Approximately 5 cases per day
- Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
- Scrubs: Provided by unit (color: ceil blue)
- Facility Requirement: Flu vaccine mandatory for all employees
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in:
- Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab procedures
- ASD Closures, Cardiac Implant Closure Device, Cardiac Stent Placement
- Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult), IABP Placement/Removal
- Left and Right Heart Catheterization
- Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)
- Temporary Pacemaker
- Electrophysiology (EP) Lab experience preferred, including:
- Insertion and programming of AICDs
- Pacemaker insertion
- Cardiac ablation
- Experience with:
- Accurate monitoring and equipment setup
- EKG lead placement
- Access site preparation
- Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Room circulator and scrub roles maintaining sterile field
- Vascular Closure Systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- Procedural skills preferred: Isolation precautions, use of rapid response team
- Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
- Certifications required:
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- ACLS
- ARRT or RCIS
- Maryland Board of Physicians certification
Documentation & Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
- E-Verify and I9 documentation required
- Valid state license verification prior to start
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Flu vaccine (or approved exemption)
- COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended (declination requires mask use)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray (updated annually)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella documentation or titer
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months and updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps
Additional Notes
- Facility provides scrubs and requires strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols
- Candidates must be prepared for on-call responsibilities including weekend 24-hour shifts
- Prior travel experience is mandatory for this contract role
