Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Jasper, Georgia
Facility: Piedmont Mountainside Hospital
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 12 weeks
- Unit Details:
- Weekend Schedule: Every Other Weekend
- Call: None
- Floating: Within facility/scope of practice and to Free-Standing ER (Elijay) as needed
- Minimum Experience: 2 years (first-time travelers accepted)
- Holiday Work:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work two of them
- Major Holidays Include:
Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day - Orientation:
- Full compliance required to start on time
- If not compliant, start delayed by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
- Locals Accepted: Yes, at same rate
Required Credentials & Compliance
Background Checks & Verifications
- Background check required within 30 days of start (must be complete prior to start)
- Education verification of related degree required (can be pending at start with proof it is in process)
- Transcript/Diploma required for Respiratory Therapists (RRTs)
- Work history verification of most recent employer required (can be pending at start with proof it is in process)
- Two clinical references required
Licenses & Certifications
- State License: Must be licensed by the State of Georgia (for CRTs & RRTs)
- NURSYS Verification: Annual verification within 30 days prior to start
- ACLS: Required for RNs in ER, PACU, Pre-op, Endo, CSU, Critical Care, CVICU, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, PCU, IMCU, Labor & Delivery, RRT, CVOR, and CRT specialties
- BLS: Required for most nursing specialties (not required for Microbiology Techs and Med Techs)
- PALS: Required for RNs in PACU/Pre-op/Endo/CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), ER
- NRP: Required if specialty indicates (Neonatal Resuscitation)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no re-certification required)
- Tech Cert Verification: National allied license verification within 30 days prior to start (if applicable)
- NIH Stroke Certification: May be required depending on specialty
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs and LVNs by Aya only)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates; alternative assessment available for blood collection tasks)
- Competency Exam (required for Nursing and Allied by Aya only)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, ICU, PCU)
- Candidates allowed 3 attempts; failure on third attempt results in cancellation
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start (not required by client)
- TB Testing: Negative PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months of start; chest x-ray required if past positive TB test
- TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
- Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
- Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination required
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions
- Flu Vaccination: Required or declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31); documentation must be uploaded
Facility Policies & Documents
- Candidate must review and sign Code of Conduct and Acknowledgement prior to start
- Candidate must review Dress and Professional Appearance Policy
Additional Notes
- Manager reviews candidate profile within 48 hours of confirmation to determine fit
- Maximum 7-day Return to Office (RTO) policy
- Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to avoid delays in start date
