Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department, Plano, TX

Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department
  • Location: Plano, Texas

  • Full-service, 513-bed acute care hospital
  • Level I Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center accreditation
  • Specialized centers including Brain & Spine, Burn & Reconstructive, Bariatric Surgery, Wound Care, and Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
  • Accredited by The Joint Commission and holds Magnet recognition from the American Nurses Association

Unit Information – Emergency Department

  • Unit Size: 38 beds (includes trauma bays, burn room, psychiatric room, vertical treatment area)
  • Staffing: Variable based on patient volume and acuity; includes RNs, advanced paramedics, EMTs, and unit secretaries
  • Patient Ratios: Variable depending on acuity and volume
  • Equipment: Standard emergency and trauma equipment
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Required Certifications & Licensure

  • Texas RN license or compact license eligible
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • SAMA, CPI, or equivalent (30-day grace period available if not currently certified)

Preferred Certifications

  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)

Typical Procedures & Patient Care

  • Care for certified chest pain patients
  • Comprehensive stroke care
  • Level 1 trauma interventions
  • Accredited burn care

Work Environment & Culture

  • Personality fit: Easy-going, flexible, positive attitude, patient-first philosophy
  • Dress code: Royal blue scrubs (branded preferred)
  • Scheduling: Self-scheduling with approximately 4 weekend shifts per month
  • Floating: No floating required, but cross-training opportunities may be available at a sister facility

This role is ideal for experienced emergency nurses who hold the required certifications and thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity trauma and emergency care environment.
