Travel RN NICU Position - Plano, Texas

Job Details

Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - NICU
Location: Plano, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM (Night Shift)

Unit Information

Unit: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Number of Beds: 41
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 9+ RNs
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 9+ RNs
Patient Ratios: Typically 1:1, 1:2, 1:3; 1:4 is rare
Equipment Used:
- High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilator (HFOV)
- Central Lines
- Conventional Ventilators
- CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure)
- NIPPV (Non-Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation)
- Ostomy care
Electronic Medical Records (EMR): CPN and Meditech

Required Skills and Experience

Must Have: Level II-III NICU experience
Preferred: Level III-IV NICU experience
Typical Procedures:
- Surgery support (excluding head and heart surgeries)
- Respiratory support
- Care for micro preemies

Certifications and Licenses

Required Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Licenses: Registered Nurse License

Work Environment and Policies

Floating Areas: Nursery
Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs
Schedule: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
On Call: None
Personality Fit: Teamwork oriented
