Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Facility Type: 42 Bed Unit, mostly post-surgical patients

• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend

Experience & Certification Requirements

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience (1st timers not accepted)
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on specialty
• Other certifications may be required based on specialty (PALS, NRP, NIH Stroke, etc.)

• Spring Break (April 6-12, no RTO)
• Memorial Day (May 26)
• Independence Day (July 4)
• Labor Day (Sept 1)
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday (Nov 27 & 28)
• Christmas Eve and Day (Dec 24 & 25)

Compliance & Orientation

• Full compliance required to start on time
• Non-compliance results in 2-week start delay due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Number of Non-Billable Orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 12 weeks = 12 hours)

Required Documentation & Compliance (Summary)

• Photo ID: Valid Driver’s License or State ID
• Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification
• Education Verification: Degree verification required; can be pending with proof of processing
• Licenses: State nursing license verification within 30 days prior to start (Georgia license required)
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant drug screen allowed under certain conditions
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
  • Immunizations: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B (or declination)
  • Flu vaccine or declination required for flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
• Competency Exams: Medication test, color blindness test, dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (depending on unit)
• References: Two clinical references required
• Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months
• Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending with proof of processing

This position is suitable for experienced RNs with at least 2 years of experience, comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical/post-surgical environment, and able to meet strict compliance and documentation requirements.
