Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position

Location: Columbus, Georgia

Job Requirements & Details

  • Minimum Experience: 2 years (1st time travelers not accepted)

  • Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics

  • Certifications Required:

    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • CCI RCIS (Cardiovascular Credentialing International - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
    • State License (if applicable) - Must be licensed by the State of Georgia for CRTs & RRTs
  • Work Setting:

    • Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab
    • Trauma Level II experience required
    • Ratio/Census: 2 Rooms
    • Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
    • Scrub color provided by facility
  • Schedule & Call:

    • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
    • Weekends: Every other weekend
    • Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
    • Call: 4-man call team, 2 teams, every other weekend
    • Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (see below)
  • Major Holidays to Work if They Fall Within Assignment:

    • New Year’s Eve and Day (Dec 31 & Jan 1)
    • Memorial Day (May 26)
    • Independence Day (July 4)
    • Labor Day (Sept 1)
    • Thanksgiving/Black Friday (Nov 27 & 28)
    • Christmas Eve and Day (Dec 24 & 25)
  • Compliance:

    • Full compliance required to start on time
    • Non-compliance results in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Orientation:

    • Number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours depends on contract length (e.g., 12 weeks = 12 hours approx.)

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Background Checks:

    • Must be completed within 30 days of start
    • Includes criminal, sex offender, education verification, and more
    • Cannot start with background pending
  • Education Verification:

    • Verification of related degree required
    • Can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
    • Official transcripts/diploma or verified tech cert/license acceptable if education cannot be verified
  • Health Documents:

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
    • TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
    • Immunizations:
      • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
      • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
    • Flu vaccine or declination required (strongly encouraged during flu season)
    • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (cannot start with results pending)
  • Competency Exams:

    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (for RNs and LVNs)
    • Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (for applicable specialties)
    • General competency exam for nursing and allied health
  • References & History:

    • 2 clinical references required
    • Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
    • Verification of most recent employer required (can be pending at start with proof)

Additional Notes

  • Locals accepted at the same rate
  • Candidate will undergo a clinical screen to determine fit before final manager approval
  • Floating may be required within the facility and scope of practice
  • Dress and professional appearance policies must be reviewed and acknowledged
  • Code of Conduct must be reviewed and signed prior to start

This position is ideal for experienced Radiology/Cardiology professionals with trauma level II experience, who hold the required certifications and are comfortable working in a fast-paced cardiac cath lab environment with adult to geriatric patients.
