Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Lebanon, Pennsylvania
Facility: WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekends: Every other weekend (EOW) and as needed
• Holidays: Expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays; no time off allowed between Christmas and New Year's
• Floating: Will float to all Medical-Surgical floors and potentially rehab
• Call Requirements: None
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Electronic Medical Record: EPIC experience required
• Facility Policy: Tobacco and fragrance-free environment
• Patient Population: May care for COVID-19 patients

Screening & Interview Process

• Clinical screening to determine fit and compliance with guidelines
• Manager interview required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

• 7-year criminal background check (including SS Trace, County, Nationwide, Sex Offender) within 30 days of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
• PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; can start with results pending if on file within 45 days
• Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required, must be finalized prior to start
• Child Abuse History Clearance (PA Childline) required within 5 years; can start with results pending if on file within 45 days

Certifications & Verifications

• State nursing license primary source verification
• NURSYS verification for RN license
• Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts
• Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing (required for all RNs except OR and Home Health)
• Medication, Dysrhythmia/EKG, and other competency exams as applicable

Health & Immunization Documents

• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; PPD not accepted
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series)
  • Varicella
• Flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required annually by October 31
• COVID-19 vaccine or valid exemption/declination accepted
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
• Respiratory Safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

Facility Specific Documents

• Passport-style photo for badge (professional appearance, solid background)
• Signed agreements including:

  • Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work
  • Commitment to Health & Wellness
  • Code of Conduct
  • Confidentiality Agreement
  • Non-Employee Affidavit
  • I9 Attestation and Documentation Attestation (agency completed)
• Completion of required Learning Management System (LMS) modules prior to start
• New Hire Orientation to be completed by end of first day

Additional Notes

• Candidate must be prepared to float to multiple units
• Facility enforces a tobacco and fragrance-free policy
• Candidate may be assigned to care for COVID-19 patients
• Weekend and holiday work is required as specified
• All health documentation must include two identifying markers (e.g., full name, DOB, SSN)
