Diagnostic Imaging - CT Technologist

Location: Rockford, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)

Job Description

• Perform computed tomography (CT) procedures and related imaging techniques.
• Administer x-radiation to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
• May be required to work alternate shifts, weekends, holidays, and take call. Flexibility for overtime and varied hours as needed to ensure quality patient care.
• Perform diagnostic CT procedures; if assigned, also perform radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical, and portable radiographic exams.
• Corroborate patient's clinical history with procedure, ensuring documentation is accurate and available for radiologist use.
• Prepare patients for procedures by providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
• Select and operate imaging equipment and accessories to successfully perform procedures.
• Position and immobilize patients as necessary, respecting patient comfort and ability.
• Practice aseptic technique as needed.
• Prepare and administer contrast media; start and maintain intravenous access.
• Initiate basic life support (BLS) when necessary.
• Provide patient education and assist with patient safety during all procedure aspects, including transport.
• Provide input on supply and equipment decisions; maintain inventory control for assigned area.
• Provide practical instruction for students and partners.
• Observe universal protocol, standard precautions, and use appropriate patient identifiers.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
• Minimum 2 years of CT experience required.

Certifications and Licensure

• ARRT Radiography registration required.
• ARRT Computed Tomography registration required.
• IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required.
• Approved CPR or BLS certification required.

Additional Information

• BLS/BCLS certification required.
• Position requires flexibility and adherence to safety protocols.
