Description

Job Opportunity: RN ICU - Boston, Massachusetts

Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 6 weeks (interpreted from 6 days as approximately 1 week, but since 6 < 4 months, contract length is 6 months)
Hours: 36 hours per week
Shift: 50/50 split between day and night shifts, every other week (EOW) and every other half (EOH)


Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years recent acute care inpatient experience or current ICU experience
  • At least 1+ year travel nursing experience required

Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS Certification: Required for onboarding (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted; AHA preferred)
  • Professional Nursing License: Primary source verification required within 30 days of start date; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted
  • Resume: Must include past 7 years of work experience with city and state
  • References: 2 recent references required, at least 1 supervisor or above in skillset
  • Skills Checklist: Required for submission

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • N95 Fit Test: Required within 365 days of start date and updated annually; no religious exemptions
  • MMR Vaccine or Immunity Proof: Documentation of required vaccines or immunity via blood test
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30); no exemptions allowed
  • TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative blood test within 3 months of start date; updated if >6 month break
  • Health Statement: Physician statement within 365 days of start date; updated if >6 month break
  • Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation: Required if fit test is required
  • Hepatitis B: Strongly preferred (vaccination record or immunity proof or declination)
  • Tdap Vaccine: Preferred within last 10 years

Background & Compliance Checks

  • Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start date; updated if >6 month break
  • Massachusetts CORI Check: Within 30 days prior to start date; updated if >6 month break
  • Education Verification: Verified through background check company
  • SSN Trace: Required with criminal check, covering last 7 years
  • National Sex Offender Check: Within 30 days of start and updated annually
  • Exclusion Checks: Within 30 days of start and annually (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid)

Additional Notes

  • All required documentation must be uploaded and verified prior to onboarding
  • No religious or medical exemptions for vaccines or fit testing
  • Fit testing cannot be done onsite; must be completed prior to start date
  • Compliance with all hospital system policies and credentialing requirements is mandatory

This position offers a balanced schedule with day and night shifts in a high-acuity ICU setting, ideal for experienced ICU RNs with travel nursing background seeking a long-term assignment in Boston.
