Description

Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist

Location: Linville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule & Duties

  • Workdays: Monday - Thursday
  • Holiday rotation required
  • May be asked to assist on weekends
  • Perform both X-Rays and CT scans
  • Must be able to work independently

Experience & Licensure Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Required certifications/licenses:
    • ARRT - CT
    • ARRT - Radiography

Required Certifications (General & Facility-Specific)

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or equivalent
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or equivalent
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - as applicable, confirm if required
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - required upon request
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - preferred for ER
  • State License - Primary Source Verification required
  • NURSYS Verification (for RNs)
  • NIH Stroke Certification - required for ICU, IMC, ER, and CCU
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - required for Behavioral Health (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention)

Background & Compliance Checks

  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated with contract renewals
  • Completion of facility-specific criminal history investigation form if background check returns a hit

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Initial physical exam, updated annually
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Immunizations or titers within 5 years for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30)

Documentation & Orientation

  • Proof of I9 or attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID required during work hours
  • E-Verify proof or attestation
  • Residency declaration if working on a compact license
  • Facility-specific photo for badge (passport style, shoulders up, front facing, plain background)
  • Completion of self-study orientation and post-test
  • Signed accountability statements and personal data sheet
  • Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
  • Proof of 2 clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
  • Completed employment application/resume
  • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units

Additional Notes

  • Must be prepared to comply with all facility-specific policies and documentation requirements
  • Some certifications and requirements may be handled on a case-by-case basis; confirm during onboarding

This position is ideal for experienced Radiology/Cardiology technologists who are comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment and meet the licensure and certification requirements.
