Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Job Overview

Seeking an experienced CT Technologist to work in a fast-paced emergency room environment at a Level I trauma center with Stroke Accreditation. The role involves performing CT scans on various body parts and supporting patient care in a high-acuity setting.


Work Schedule

  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1900-0730)
  • Call once every 6-10 weeks
  • Work every third weekend
  • Rotating shifts including weekends and on-call

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform CT scans (abdomen, pelvis, chest, head/neck, spine, musculoskeletal, brain perfusion)
  • Operate CT equipment ensuring high-quality imaging
  • Support patient comfort and safety during procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with regulatory guidelines
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience (highest required)
  • BLS and ARRT certifications required; Advanced ARRT preferred
  • Experience with Siemens CT equipment and Epic charting system
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and on-call

Work Environment

  • Inpatient settings including Emergency Room, Operating Room, Adult ICU
  • Level I Trauma Center
  • Community Hospital

Certifications & Compliance

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • ARRT certification required; Advanced ARRT preferred
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, FBI/BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific)
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 3 months of start
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers
    • Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (declination acceptable)
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
  • Annual review and acknowledgment of dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance policies
  • Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • Competency exams and unit-specific training may be required
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position

  • Fingerprinting must be completed using Ohio BCI & FBI codes with results within 1 year of start
  • Background checks and credential verifications are strictly enforced
