ICU RN - 12H Nights (7p-7:30a) - Critical Care Unit
Location
- State: New York

Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- 30-minute unpaid break per shift
- Every other weekend required
- Holidays as needed
- No call
Unit Details
- 36 beds total: 24 ICU beds and 12 Intermediate Care (Stepdown) beds
- Adult critical care patients including:
- Shock patients requiring hemodynamic monitoring
- Vascular, thoracic, and cardiac surgery patients
- Patients with acute respiratory disease requiring mechanical ventilation
- Cardiac care area with OR-quality lighting for emergencies
- Close proximity to radiology, OR, emergency department, and cardiac catheterization suite
Patient Ratio
- 1:1 to 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio based on acuity
Requirements
- New York State nursing license at time of submission (can screen without license)
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience, with at least 1 year in ICU or specialty area
- Cardiac surgery skills required
- Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross); can be obtained prior to start date
- Recent Nursys verification
- Prior travel experience preferred but not required
Orientation & Compliance
- RN orientations bi-weekly (ER RN every other Tuesday; other RN/LPN every other Monday)
- Allied health orientations weekly on Mondays
- All compliance documents due 7 days prior to start date
- COVID and flu declinations accepted
Additional Information
- No self-scheduling; scheduling based on facility needs
- No block scheduling
- Must float within competencies to Stepdown and Medical/Surgical units as needed
- No artificial or gel nails; no chipped polish allowed
- Scrub color and shoe requirements provided upon assignment
- EMR system: Cerner
- Full SSN, DOB, and return-to-office (RTO) date required for submission
- Submission limited to one Ellis Hospital need at a time
- Prior permanent or per diem staff at this hospital are not eligible for travel assignments here
