Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Lebanon, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week (12 hours each, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Weekends: Every other weekend (EOW) as needed
  • Floating: Will float to all Medical-Surgical floors and potentially rehab
  • Holidays: Expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays; no time off allowed between Christmas and New Year's
  • Patient Population: May care for COVID-19 patients
  • Facility Environment: Tobacco and fragrance-free

Experience & Certifications

  • Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse
  • Certifications Required:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • EPIC Experience: Required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
    • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
    • PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days or will be removed from assignment
    • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required and must be finalized prior to start
  • Education Verification: Highest level of education must be verified (degree, diploma, or transcripts)
  • References: 2 professional references within 3 years
  • Employment Application: Most recent resume/application required
  • Skills Checklist: Required annually
  • Performance Evaluation: Completed onsite by Unit Managers during assignment

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Required within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
  • Vaccinations/Immunizations:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; PPD not accepted
    • Rubeola (Measles): 2 doses vaccine or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal
    • Mumps: 2 doses vaccine or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal
    • Rubella: 2 doses vaccine or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal
    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable
    • Varicella: 2 doses vaccine or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal
    • Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season or valid medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
    • COVID-19 Vaccine: Dose 1 required or medical/religious exemption/declination accepted
  • Drug Testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year (required by agency, not facility)
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required within 1 year of start, renew annually

Licensing & Competencies

  • State License: Primary source online verification required
  • NURSYS Verification: Required for RN license
  • Competency Exams:
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency as applicable
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required for all RNs except OR and Home Health
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing: Required for all RNs except OR and Home Health

Additional Requirements

  • Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with solid light-colored background, professional attire, no masks or sunglasses
  • Facility-Specific Documents: Candidate must review and sign various agreements including Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Commitment to Health & Wellness, Non-Employee Affidavit, and Hepatitis B Declination
  • Learning Management System (LMS) Modules: Required for RNs; must be completed on PC/laptop before start date
  • New Hire Orientation: Required and must be completed by end of first day of orientation
