Job Opportunity: Laboratory Specialist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Part-time, Saturday shift only
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in Laboratory specialty
- Travel Experience: Prior travel experience NOT required; first-time travelers considered
- Certifications Required:
- ASCP (required)
- BLS (preferred)
- ASCP-MLS (preferred)

Certifications (as applicable)
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, STABLE (refer to job/unit description for applicability)
- Tech Certification Verification (national) as applicable by profession
- State License Verification (primary source)
- NURSYS Verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for certain units)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) as applicable
Competency Exams (as applicable)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (within 1 year of start)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
- Competency Exam (within 1 year of start)
- Age Specific Competency Exam (required for all, including CNAs)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for most units except certain roles)
Facility Specific Documents
- Passport/Badge style photo with solid white/beige background
- Confidentiality Agreement signed prior to start
- Dress Code reviewed prior to start
- Latex Allergy Questionnaire completed by all candidates
- Standards of Conduct and Employee Confidentiality Statement completed prior to start
- Badge ID Application completed prior to start
- Job Description signed prior to start (RN and Non-RN versions)
- Portfolio Training Test Out Form (time sensitive, related to Epic training)
Health Requirements
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start, including Latex Screen
- Fit Test within 1 year of start (specific mask models accepted)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination (required for units working with children)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray with specific guidelines, updated annually
- TB Questionnaire if positive TB result
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination accepted, series not accepted)
- Varicella
- Negative 9 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests NOT accepted)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Medical/Religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID vaccine NOT required for this location; exemptions accepted if required elsewhere
References and Employment History
- Two supervisory references within 1 year of start (Charge RNs, Supervisors, or Managers acceptable)
- Agency application/resume completed within 30 days of start
- Verification of previous 5 years of employment history (attestation accepted if necessary)
Summary
This is a travel/contract Laboratory position in Baltimore, MD, requiring a minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience. The role is part-time on Saturdays only and welcomes first-time travelers.
