Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - Travel/Contract

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)

Job Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of specialty experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• NICU Experience: Must have recent and proficient acute care Level III NICU experience (Level IV NICU preferred but Level III accepted)
• Skills: Experience with oscillators, jet vents, and nitric oxide (ECMO experience not required)
• Certifications Required:

  • RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA/AAP certified
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
• Licensing: New Jersey state license required (pending license accepted)
• Work Schedule: Every other weekend required; must be primary work schedule if holding additional jobs
• Other:

  • Will attend high-risk deliveries and C-sections
  • No on-call required
  • No travel pairs allowed
  • Facility will not accept travelers who were past employees of this hospital
  • First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Compliance & Background Checks

• Criminal background check including all locations lived/worked within the last 7 years, including SSN trace and national sex offender registry
• Background check must be completed within 30 days of start
• SAM and OIG searches required within 30 days of start

Orientation & Testing

• Mandatory hospital orientation required
• Completion of assigned Cornerstone modules (~8 hours) prior to start
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required (AYA standard)
• Pass/fail testing for EKG/Dysrhythmia and medication exams required; two attempts allowed
• IV Certification required if previously worked in New Jersey; otherwise, IV exam and possible in-person course required
• Additional competency exams may be required depending on unit

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam or fit-to-work statement from a physician
• Tdap vaccine required
• Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or Tspot) within 3 months of start; chest x-ray if positive
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer required
• Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination
• Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer required
• Hepatitis C - Negative or non-reactive titer required
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required (medical and religious exemptions accepted with documentation)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start; on-site drug screen at assignment start

Documentation & Verification

• 3 professional references required (one must be supervisor level)
• Employment application must show minimum 2 years of acute care experience
• Work history verification required for at least 1 year prior to start date (New Jersey candidates)
• Skills checklist required
• Facility-specific documents including photo for badge, orientation self-study packet, and compliance checklist

Additional Notes

• Scrub color: Ceil Blue
• Return-to-Office (RTO) requests must be approved by the facility; no more than 7 days of RTO allowed
• Travelers must be able to commit fully to this contract schedule
