Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Mixed Acuity Unit
• Location: Louisville, KY
• Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Experience & Requirements

• Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2+ years
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required
• Required Certifications: BLS, NIH, Kentucky Nursing License
• Float Requirements: Yes – must be able to float to PCU or Med Surg units
• Must Have Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in PCU (Progressive Care Unit)
  • Cardiac drip (gtts) management
  • Telemetry monitoring
  • Experience managing higher patient ratios (5-6 patients per nurse)
• Patient Ratios: 5:1
• Unit Type: Mixed Acuity – General Overflow

• Number of Beds: 17

  • Dynamaps
  • Glucometers
  • IV and SCD pumps
  • Lift equipment
  • Bladder scanners
  • Cardiac monitoring devices
  • Provizio SEMs scanner
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner

Dress Code

• Scrubs: Galaxy Blue top with black or galaxy blue bottoms
• Undershirt: White or gray allowed
• Note: Must wear scrubs; no unacceptable attire specified

Additional Information

• No ICU nurses unless they have experience with higher patient ratios
• Unable to accommodate travel pairs at this time

This role is ideal for experienced RNs comfortable with mixed acuity patients and higher patient loads, seeking a travel assignment in a well-equipped academic medical center environment.
