Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Stockbridge, Georgia
Contract Length: 9 weeks

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• 1st time travelers accepted
• No prior travel experience explicitly required

Patient Population

• Neonates to Geriatrics

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification

Additional certifications that may be required or preferred depending on specialty or unit:

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
• State License verification (Georgia)
• NURSYS Verification (RN)

Work Environment & Unit Details

• Level 3 trauma center (in process)
• Primary stroke center, CHF, STEMI, chest pain center
• Patient ratio: 1:4
• 59 rooms, average 250 visits per day
• Unit systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
• Scrub color: Navy Blue

Scheduling & Work Conditions

• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Weekend shifts: Every other weekend
• Floating: Yes
• Call requirements: None
• Holiday work: Required to work major holidays during assignment (expectation varies based on number of holidays during contract)

Compliance & Orientation

• Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may push start date by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)

Screening & Competency Exams

• Clinical screen required to determine clinical fit
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required
• Color Blind Testing required
• Competency Exam required for nursing staff
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required for certain units (Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, ICU, PCU) with up to 3 attempts allowed

Health & Background Requirements

• Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
• TB questionnaire required annually
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions)

Additional Requirements

• References: 2 clinical references required
• Skills checklist updated within 12 months
• Verification of most recent work history required (can be pending at start with proof it is in process)
