Travel RN Opportunity - Emergency Department, Asheville, North Carolina
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Information
- Unit Type: Emergency Department in a Level 2 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Number of Beds: 101
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 for medical patients; up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
- Staffing: Techs available; work includes cardiac monitoring, triage, and unit clerks on days and nights
- Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Scheduling: Every other weekend required; no block scheduling; schedule must meet department needs
- Floating Policy: No floating outside the ED; must be flexible to float within all ED sections
- Patient Experience: Emphasis on AIDET communication, respectful behavior, and keeping patients informed throughout their visit
Required Certifications (Must have before start date)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) within 90 days of hire
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a Level 2 trauma center or comprehensive stroke center
- At least 1 year of experience in an Emergency Room setting
- Previous experience with high-volume EDs (>100,000 visits) preferred
- Previous experience with HCA Healthcare preferred
- Teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED
Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required

- Dress Code: Navy scrubs required

- Attendance policy and unit-specific guidelines provided on day 1
