Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist
Location: Lanham, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Requirements
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Experience: Minimum 2 years current and strong CT Tech experience
- Certifications:
- CT Registered by the ARRT
- Maryland License through the MBP
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certified
- Work Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW)
- Equipment Experience: Toshiba and PACS
- Work Areas: ICU and Emergency Department (ED)
Required Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for ICU, NCU, ED, Heart & Vascular, Observation, PCU/Telemetry, and Flex units.
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for all units except Pharmacy.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for Pediatric, Pediatric ED, and DCMC ED.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): Required for Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby Units.
- Chemo Certification: Preferred for Oncology.
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required for all units except Cath Lab, OR, Mother Baby Unit, and L&D. Must be updated annually.
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for all RNs.
- Color Blind Testing: Required within 12 months of start.
- Competency Exam: Required for all units except Social Workers; updated annually.
- State License Verification: Primary source verification required.
Background Checks
- 7-year criminal background check within the past year of start, updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM checks required within 30 days of start and updated for every contract renewal.
- HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for every contract renewal.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start. New physical required if break in service exceeds 30 days.
- Fit test with N95 mask within past 12 months (on-site fit testing not available). PAPR training available if approved.
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or positive titer with medical exemption documentation.
- Negative TB test (Qgold or Tspot) within past 12 months; PPDs not accepted. New TB required if break in service exceeds 30 days.
- TB Questionnaire must be completed prior to start and updated annually.
- Two MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella; boosters required for low titers.
- Hepatitis B series, positive titer, or signed declination.
- Two Varicella vaccines or positive titer; boosters required for low titers.
- Negative 9 Panel Drug Screen (excluding Marijuana) within 30 days of start; no dilute or low creatinine tests accepted.
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (October - March). Declinations not accepted.
Additional Requirements
- References from 2 supervisors or above within 2 years of start. One reference may be from a charge person if needed, but supervisor reference must be obtained within 30 days of assignment start.
- Complete employment application/resume required.
- Skills checklist for applicable unit, updated annually.
Prior Travel Experience
- No explicit requirement for prior travel experience mentioned.
This position is ideal for a CT Technologist with strong experience in ICU and ED settings, holding the necessary certifications and licenses, and able to commit to a 13-week travel contract in Maryland.
