Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele Float RN)

Location: Rochester, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: MS/Tele Float RN
  • Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (Option to request 4x12 with approval)
  • Start Date: January 20, 2026
  • Floating: Required (This is an overhire float unit)
  • First Time Travelers: Accepted
  • Locals: Must live more than 75 miles from the facility

Licensure & Certifications

  • New York RN License: Must have license in hand before start
  • BLS: Required (AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI accepted)
  • EPIC Charting Experience: Required
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit description, including but not limited to:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
    • NIH Stroke Certification

Experience Requirements

  • Years of Specialty Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 1+ year typical for MS/Tele Float RN roles
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first time travelers accepted)

Required Background Checks & Verifications

  • 7-year criminal background check (including felony checks) within 3 months of start
  • SSN Trace, National Criminal, National Sex Offender checks
  • Education verification from primary source (no hard copy degrees)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start and monthly thereafter
  • Foreign equivalency evaluation if education obtained internationally
  • State-specific checks including NYS Nurse Aide Registry (if applicable), fingerprinting for certain units, disciplinary action search, sex offender registry, and Medicaid exclusion list

Health & Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract:

  • Physical exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
  • Fit mask test (within 1 year, updated annually)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year) or TB questionnaire
  • Immunizations or titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start (not required annually)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (required during flu season)
  • Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year (not required annually)
  • COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Competencies & Other Requirements

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as required
  • Color blind testing (one-time)
  • Competency exams as required by specialty
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
  • State license primary source verification within 30 days of start
  • NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start
  • Photo for badge (passport-style with solid background)

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must be able to float across units as this is a float position
  • Locals must live more than 75 miles away from the facility to qualify
  • References and employment verification required for Aya direct candidates

This position is ideal for RNs with MS/Tele experience who are comfortable with night shifts and floating, and who meet New York licensure and certification requirements. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
