Travel RN – Behavioral Health

Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

Seeking a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct and indirect patient care in an inpatient psychiatric setting. The role involves assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care, including developing nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff. Participation in discharge planning and communication of clinical changes to physicians and supervisors is required.

Work Details

• Shift: Days (7 AM – 7 PM)
• Schedule: No block schedule
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Yes
• Dress Code: Blue scrubs

Unit Profile

• Patient Population: Geriatric, pediatric (ages 5-17), and adult patients
• Number of Beds: 104 across five units (2 adult units with 24 beds each, 24 geriatric beds, 12 pediatric beds)
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:8, lower ratios for geriatric and pediatric units
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner

Qualifications

• Required Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts
• Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in inpatient psychiatric/behavioral health setting (higher of stated requirements)
• Preferred Experience: Behavioral health nursing experience
• Personality Fit: Must be willing to work with both adult and pediatric populations
