Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, Friday through Sunday, 8 AM to 8 PM (start time may vary between 7 AM and 9 AM)
- On Call: No call required
- Holiday: Must be available to work one holiday per 13-week contract (rotational with staff)
- Travel Experience: First-time travelers NOT accepted
- Locals: Not accepted (radius rule applies)
- License: Active Virginia state license required; emergency authorization available while permanent license processes
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required; ARRT (CT) preferred
Required Clinical Skills
- Preparation and/or administration of contrast media
- Radiation safety knowledge and practice
Unit and Floating Details
- May be required to float to a nearby facility approximately half a mile away
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 2 years typical for CT Tech roles (no conflicting data)
- Prior Travel Experience: Required (first-time travelers not accepted)

- Physical exam within 1 year, free from communicable diseases
- Fit test within 1 year, updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunizations or positive titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and compliance paperwork
- Two clinical references required
- Completed employment application/resume
- Annual skills checklist update
Additional Notes
- Radiation badges for new candidates must be supplied by the client, not the agency
- Must comply with facility-specific policies and documentation deadlines
- No call required, but must adhere to call-off policy (1 shift off per 2 weeks allowed)
This position is ideal for experienced CT Technologists with prior travel contract experience who hold the necessary certifications and licensure for Virginia. The role offers a consistent weekend schedule with no on-call responsibilities in a highly regarded acute care teaching hospital.
