Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Worcester, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Shift: 7:00 PM start time with rare flexibility (±4 hours) only for urgent staffing needs
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Experience Required: Minimum 1.5 years in specialty (Registered Nurse)
• EPIC experience preferred
• Licensure: Massachusetts RN license required (Perm MA license in hand)
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Additional certifications preferred depending on unit (e.g., CHEMO for Oncology, TNCC for ER)

Required Qualifications & Experience

• At least 1.5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
• Valid Massachusetts RN license
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• EPIC experience preferred but not mandatory
• No explicit prior travel experience required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid government-issued ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Massachusetts Statewide (iCORI) Release (updated annually)
• 7-year Criminal Background Check within 30 days of start, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • County searches
  • National Criminal search
  • OIG, NSOR, SAM checks
• Education Verification (highest completed education) or transcript if verification unavailable
• State License Verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS Verification within 30 days prior to start
• Physical Exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness without restrictions
• Drug Testing within 30 days of start (specific drug panels required)
• Immunizations and Declinations as applicable:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, NICU, Maternity)
  • TB testing (2 PPDs or QuantiFERON/T-Spot) and TB Questionnaire
  • MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu, COVID-19 vaccinations or facility-specific declinations (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, NICU, Maternity)
• Pass/Fail Testing: Medication Exam required for all RNs; Telemetry Exam required for RNs in telemetry units (one attempt only, minimum 80% score)
• References: 2 references within 3 years of start
• Employment Application: Must include 7 years of employment history and explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Skills Checklist: Required prior to start and updated annually

Additional Notes

• Shift flexibility is very limited and only used in urgent staffing situations
• Prior travel experience is NOT required for this position
• EPIC experience is preferred but not mandatory
• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific health and background requirements to be eligible

This position is ideal for Registered Nurses with at least 1.5 years of experience, current Massachusetts licensure, and required certifications who are interested in a 13-week travel contract in Worcester, MA.
