Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Specialty

• Radiology / Cardiology
• Minimum 1 year of specialty experience required (higher value confirmed)
• Neuro experience required
• Scrub experience required

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty
• First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) required
• Maryland state license pending acceptable to start, but must be posted prior to assignment start
• Radiation Badge required (provided by facility)

Job Details

• Must be within a 45-minute radius for call-back
• Weekday call backup from 5 PM to 7 AM (Monday-Friday)
• Weekend call can be primary or backup, 7 AM Saturday to 7 AM Monday
• Holidays call from 7 AM to 7 AM if needed

Required Compliance & Documentation

• I9 and E-Verify documentation
• Government-issued photo ID (valid driver’s license or state ID)
• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification and transcript/diploma preferred
• Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Drug screening (9-panel) within 30 days of start
• Immunizations/vaccinations:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer required
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer required
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
• Fit mask testing (respirator fit test) required for new contracts (not for non-clinical)
• Stroke and Trauma CEUs may be required (check unit specifics)
• EKG/Dysrhythmia competency exam required (Relias or Prophecy platform) with up to 3 attempts
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, CPI)

• Work history verification for last 7 years (2 employers) or professional references
• Consent to release information and facility-specific policies acknowledgment
• Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing for clinical competencies

This position is suitable for IR Techs with at least 1 year of experience, including neuro and scrub experience, who are willing to take call and work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Prior travel experience is not required. Compliance with extensive credentialing, background checks, immunizations, and competency testing is mandatory.
